Dalby have strengthened their claim as serious contenders for the 2014 AFL Darling Downs women's flag, after defeating the previously undefeated Bombers by 42-points on Saturday afternoon.
The understrength Bombers had no answers as the Swans romped to an impressive 8.10 (58) to 2.4 (16) victory. With Seaniger, Baldock, Harvey and Ranford all outs for South Toowoomba their depth was seriously tested and weren't able to take on the brutal and physical contest of the Swannies.
Prolific goal-scorer Alison Gaur strengthened her lead on the competition goal-kicking leader board booting 5-majors in the Swans victory.
15-year old Jessi Henning was named the Swans best, as the young-gun played arguable her best game of the season against the Bombers. Shaye Easton and Amy Hollis were also named in the Swans best by the Dalby coaching staff, with both players having high impacts on the match.
With a quartet of stars out the next generation of Bombers had the opportunity to shine with young players Erin Thompson-Mann and under 16 State representative Chloe MacDonald the shining lights in somewhat of a dull afternoon for the Bombers.
However, the Bombers won't be to phased by their loss.
South Toowoomba has the minor premiership wrapped up and face Lockyer Valley in the final game of the women's home and away season. Dalby will start to plan for week 1 of finals, as they prepare for the Bombers again but will have to take into account the return of the star quartet.
