Who will roar the loudest, Tigers or Cougars?
With finals not too far away, everyone is starting to look at ladder positions and who will finish top two with the all important second chance.
The result of the Under 14 McDonald's Shield blockbuster between Toowoomba and University will help decide who finishes second and who will play off in an elimination final. Tigers host the Cougars, in a rumble of the jungle cats in the junior competitions match of the round.
Both sides come into this clash on the back of an impressive winning streak and will be primed for this match.
In their last five games the Tigers average winning margin has been 63 points with the Cougars with a very impressive winning margin of 105 points of their last five matches. The last encounter between these two sides was back in round 8 where the third placed Cougars out played an understrength Tigers outfit by 69-points.
However, don't expect this round 17 clash to go the same way.
Toowoomba prolific midfielders Eric Rattray and Callan Wilson are back in full flight and are in arguable career best form. Tigers goal-kicking machine Aiden Edwards is roaring in front of the big sticks, averaging just over 3-goals per game and leading the way for the second placed Tigers.
University boast numerous stars including star defender Ethan Carmody, Abdullah Haddad and Emmanual Fallah.
Carmody no doubt will go straight to Edwards (Tigers) and at some stage no doubt Tigers duo Wilson and Rattray will go head to head with Haddad and Fallah. This will be an interesting game and one worth heading out to Rockville Oval on Saturday morning.
Summary
Finals positions are up for grabs, with both sides finals bound this will be an important game to fine tune game plans, tactics against another finals side. Everyone wants the second chance and no doubt both sides will be throwing everything into this contest.
