To the AFL Darling Downs footy community,
Many of you may have seen recent new bulletins about the tragic death of a young girl in Warwick from suspected meningococcal disease. Tragically Jazmyn Carter was only 18 years of age.
What you may not be aware of is that Jasmyn was a member of our AFLDD family, as a player with the Warwick Redback’s. Jazmyn played in the women’s match on Saturday 2 August, against Dalby at Warwick.
On behalf of our footy community, I ask that you consider making a donation to assist the family of Jazmyn during this terrible time.
Donations can be made as follows:
Bank: Westpac
BSB: 034-236
Account No: 300339
Online Reference: Jazmyn
At a branch reference: 060814
The League Secretary has distributed information from Queensland Health on meningococcal to all clubs yesterday. Anyone seeking this information should contact their club secretary, or visit the Queensland Health website.
The AFLDD footy community is not large in numbers, but we have large hearts. Please contribute what you can to one of our own, so we can try and make a difference to her family and her team mates, even in the smallest possible way,
Thanks and regards
Andrew Foley
AFLDD President
