Dalby have continued their climb up the AFL Darling Downs Division 2 ladder, after bringing the Saints 9-game winning streak to a halt by slender 3-points on Saturday afternoon.
This was the Saints first loss on the road this season and it seemed that South Burnett were on their way to their 10th win in a row. South Burnett were in front for the entire game up until three quarter time but a Swans revival in the final stanza saw the Swans fly up into the lead, for the first time.
Carl Doherty led the resurgence for Dalby, as the Swans recorded a memorable 13.8 (86) to 13.5 (83) victory.
It would of been a disappointing trip back along the Bunya highway, with the Saints slipping back to second on the ladder in a game they were heavily tipped to win.
Samuel Banks and Brendan Buckley along with Doherty were the standout Swans as were the Snow brothers (Ty and Kieran) for the Saints.
University regained top spot on the ladder after their big win over Highfields at Baker Street. Ryan Hopkins booted 5-majors with a trio of University young stars guiding the 2013 Grand-Finalists into first place.
Sam Cooper, Josh Mays and Isaac Parker were fantastic for the Cougars and combined well to show the depth University boast within their senior ranks.
It was a tough evening for the Lions, however Mitchell Wren and Jason Long were shining lights in the 12.10 (82) to 3.1 (19) loss.
