David "RPM’s" McLeod becomes the first player at Moorebank (South West Sydney) to reach the 300 game milestone this weekend. This tally does not include those games played prior to the 1996 amalgamation of the Bankstown and Liverpool Clubs. David began playing with Bankstown in 1990 with the under 19’s and would usual play 19’s in the morning and seniors in the afternoon. He was a member of the 1992 Bankstown Premiership team that defeated Penrith 12 12 84 to 6 9 45. David played well over 100 games at Bankstown and was a playing life member.
He was member of the South West Sydney reserve grade runners up teams of 1996 and 1997 and over the years has captained both the reserve and third grade teams. RPM’s has spent the majority of his career playing in defence at CHB and HBF and is rarely beaten and has always worn the number 12.
Fittingly on Saturday David will Captain the third grade team against Camden in his 300 wearing the Green and Gold heritage jumper of the Bankstown club and will be joined on the field that day by a number of former team mates who have come out of retirement to play alongside of him.
In addition to his playing service David served over 10 years consecutively on the committee in the clubs secretary and Vice President roles. In 2002 he was made a life member of the Moorebank (South West Sydney) club. In acknowledgement of Davids service to the club the Thirds Most Determined award was named after him in 2011.
