The finals bound Goondiwindi Hawks will have the ultimate preparation for their maiden finals campaign as they face the undefeated reigning premiers at home.
South Toowoomba are coming off a two week bye and it may just be the perfect time to face the underdone Bombers. The Hawkettes however are also coming off the bye but played four games prior with a two and two record.
With much of the talk about the Bombers dynamic duo in Isabelle Baldock and Georgie Seaniger, South Toowoomba have unleashed another band of stars. Young-gun Chloe MacDonald has given the Bombers another gear, as has the mid-season return of premiership players Jessica Harvey and Morgan Prior.
However, the play who has flown under the radar is the Bomber's skipper Rebecca McInnes. Her ability to swing into defence this season has proven an important string in the Bombers bow.
South Toowoomba have been criticised at times for their lack of defensive pressure but Captain McInnes has proven that the red and black are a well-balanced machine now and beating them will take something special.
Goondiwindi have had a band of regular contributors and they will need the ultimate team performance if they are to upset the Bombers juggernaut.
This will be the Bombers first trip to Riddles Oval and no doubt the Hawkettes and Goondiwindi faithful will make the visit as daunting as possible for the undefeated top of the table side.
In the weekend's other Blackchrome Cup fixture, Warwick will host Coolaroo at Reddies Oval on Sunday afternoon. It will be a big day for the Warwick side, not only is it the sides last game of the 2014 season but they will come together to remember star player Jasmyn Carter who tragically passed away earlier in the week.
The Reddies are urging spectators, players, officials and those in attendance to wear as much pink as possible to remember Jasmyn.
