South Burnett will march into Baker Street with one plan, knock off University and return to the top of Division 2 ladder.
Easier said than done.
Baker Street has become, somewhat of a fortress for visiting teams from juniors, right through to seniors and this Round 15 clash will be no different.
South Burnett currently sits two points behind University on the ladder and has the opportunity to leap-frog the Cougars with a victory. The Saints are the number one attacking side in the division 2 competition, averaging an impressive 109.8pts per game this season.
Statistics show however, that scoring won't be as easy in previous weeks when they face University.
The Cougars much like their division 1 side have a very strong defensive back 6 but are very defensive minded across the ground. Opposition sides are averaging a mere 30.5 points per game against the 2013 Grand-Finalists and this is the reason they currently sit on top of the table.
Brendon McDonald and Isaac Parker have been the most consistent players for the Cougars this season and led from the front. Both players, if they line up will play another pivotal role in this clash. Veteran University player Scott Sowerby has also played an important role up forward for the Cougars booting 21-goals thus far and the go-to man inside forward 50 for University.
Five players have been the keys to the Saints impressive season in Adam Bowater, Ty Snow, Daniel Rogers, Jordan Presnell and Paul Presnell.
All five have played every game this season for South Burnett and between the five Saints, they have kicked 74-goals, which is over half of the Saints avenue to the big sticks.
This is the first time both sides will play each other this year but both will be wary of the talent each side possesses.
In the rounds other matches Chinchilla be looking to consolidate a top 4 position when they face the Warwick Redback's at home. While Dalby will be looking to keep their finals hopes alive when they face the reigning premiers Coolaroo in Saturday afternoon footy at Dalby's Owen Street Oval.
