I’d also like to welcome a new team into our Yr 5/6 Competition-The Celtics.                                           

I have attached the Draw for a fortnight to allow for any changes with teams.

If you feel your team* is not in the right pool, please let me know so I can make changes before the completed draw is done for the term.

Bench Duty:

There were some issues with Bench duty last term , some parents were still not happy with the way it was done. I have discussed it with the association and this is what they have suggested for me to try this term & see how it goes.

We will now have 1 parent from each team doing bench duty on their child’s own game. But this now means you will be doing bench duty each week, rather once per fortnight.

Should both teams not provide a parent for each bench duty, then the team without a parent for the duty will result in that team losing one competition point.

I’m happy to hear of any other suggestions.

Should your parents still need help with bench duty, please advise me & I will assist or provide them with sheets.

Green Shirt Referees: No Go, Green Zone

Just another reminder that any referee in a green shirt is still in training and NO Coach or Parent is to approach them or question them.

Should there be an issue please come & speak to me at an appropriate time and I will look into the matter.

Adam our Referee Officer will be returning this term to assess all our current referees.

Mercy Rule:

Should your team be playing another team with not the same developed skills we ask coaches pull them back pass half way .

If this still is not allowing the team to develop, then we ask that the team allows them past half way & when the stronger team is shooting, that they pass the ball 3 times before they take a shot at the basket.

With our new team starting this term, I believe this will be required and would appreciate coaches and players  assistance on this.

No Zone Defence

The social competition does not allow for any zone defence, if you are unsure what this is I can explain it.

Looking forward to another great term of fun basketball. Thank you to all the parents that have assisted with canteen duty and also bench duty, the competition could not be as successful without your help and also our referees.
