Commitment, milestones and goal-kicking machines
1. Tom Clark became the first junior player in season 2014 to reach the magical total of 50 goals. Clark has a season tally of 53 to date that has included individual bags of 7, 9, 8 and 9. Tom is currently tied as the number 1 goal-kicker across the Darling Downs for all players; he is on top of the leader board with Division 1 leading goal-kicker Miels Grice.
2. Lockyer Valley Demon star female footballer Amber Schroen became the first female player at the Demons to reach the 50-game milestone. The star Under 14 player is regularly listed as one of the Demons best every week and has debut for the Demons women's side in 2014.
3. Bell family ringing of commitment! Goondiwindi Hawk juniors Gilbert and Jackie Bell's commitment will never be questioned by anyone. The St George based family have a 6-hour round trip, just to reach the Hawks home venue of Riddles Oval and this is just a small piece of travel for the South West Queenslanders. With games spread right around the region and Gilbert linking in with the U14 Crows development program, the Bell family are no strangers to travel. Their longest recorded trip this year was the 15-hour round trip to play a game of football in Brisbane for the Darling Downs Crows.
4. Ultimate team, the Dalby Swans under 14's currently sit second on the McDonald's Shield ladder but rank number 1 on the Darling Downs as the ultimate scoring team. Every player on the Swans under 14 playing list has kicked at least one goal this season, an amazing statistic.
