Bombers on track for back to back flags
Coolaroo come up against ladder leaders South Toowoomba in a battle of the Garden City. It has been labelled as 'mission impossible' for the Roo's, as they look to become the first side to take down the undefeated champions.
The Bombers are looking for their 18th consecutive victory and will face their toughest task yet.
This round 14 clash may just be the game to bring down the Bombers, with the South Toowoomba women’s side only playing one game of footy in a month. Coolaroo will be eager to bounce back to form after a disappointing loss to Goondiwindi last week.
The Navy Roo's welcomed back representative star Tarina Oates who returned against the Hawks and if the star player of the first half the season Jade Hose returns, the impressive duo may be just what is needed to end the red and black run.
Coolaroo also boast a number of the competitions best players in the Pasfield sisters, Shonnie Skehan and Carrie Daley.
That quartet and the dynamic duo of Hose and Oates are keys if the Roo's are to cause the upset of the season. With the Swans 2points clear in second place of the navy Roo's in third, this is a must win game if the Roo girls are to earn the all-important second chance come finals.
For South Toowoomba, they will be without star youngster Chloe MacDonald who is away in Sydney with Queensland school-girls representative duties but still have the fire power of Bec McInnes, Georgie Seaniger, Isabelle Baldock and co in their ranks.
But the star trio aren't all the firepower for the Bombers, as Savannah Ranford and rookie Rebekkah Rogers have taken their games to the next level this season and creating headaches for opposition sides.
Shutting down the influence of Seaniger and Baldock in the midfield is crucial and also the scoreboard impact McInnes has inside forward fifty.
If the Roo's can find a key target inside their forward fifty they will test the untested defensive unit of the Bombers, who at times have shown inexperience. It will be a tough ask to defeat the Bombers at Heritage Oval, though it may seem impossible there is definitely a chance the Roo's could hop to victory under lights.
