A five goal to nothing, second quarter blitz by Goondiwindi on Saturday afternoon at Gold, has seen the Hawks upset the Roo's in emphatic fashion.
Goondiwindi boasting assistant from the two bye clubs were no match for the navy roo's in the round 13 encounter. Shaye Easton booted 8-goals up forward, while Jessica Bell and Amy Hague were prolific for the Hawks, as was Isabelle Baldock from the Bombers.
It was all one way traffic after the first stanza with the Roo's unable to register a score after the first break.
Jenille Pasfield was the stand out Roo with good support from her sister Mariah Pasfield and club captain Jess Gallagher. Goondiwindi ran out 12.15 (87) to 1.0 (6) victors, this was the Hawks third win of the season and one that may just see the Hawkettes play finals in their first year.
In the weekends other Blackchrome Cup fixture the Warwick Redback's have upset the Lockyer Valley Demons at Reddies Oval by 80-points.
The previously win-less Reddies showed no mercy as they recorded their biggest ever win, with Brigid Gaur booting 3 and Gabi Richmond chipping in with 2 up forward. Warwick however could have done a lot more damage on the score-board, however credit must go to the Demons who consistent pressure on the Redback's saw them kick 21-behinds for the match.
Lockyer Valley's Kim Davison and Amber Schroen stood tall in the Demons 0.1 (1) to 10.21 (81) defeat.
