The AFL Sydney Rising Star nominee for Round 12 is Tom Dickson from UNSW/ES.
Tom has now kicked 6 goals in the last 3 games in Premier Division whilst resting in the forward line, as well as spending periods on the wing and running through the mid-field.
It is no coincidence that UNSW/ES have won 2 of these 3 games due to the pressure and speed Tom brings around the contests and in both winning games has been named in the best.
Coach Daniel Lynch asked Tom to contribute in the second half of the game against UTS in Premier Division and he duly followed his coaches request kicking one goal and setting up a second in a very low scoring game against UTS last Sunday where only 6 goals were kicked for the afternoon.
This follows the 3 goals he scored in UNSW/ES’s 60 point win over Sydney Hills Eagles in Premier Division in round 10 with another polished performance.
Tom is a Sydney Swans Academy player and travels down from Port Macquarie every week to play footy in Sydney. ’s a hard running midfield/half forward with silky skills by hand and foot. In his first few games of senior football he’s shown a lot of poise and composure with the ball in hand. Having played his first game of Swans Reserves football four weeks ago, Tom clearly has a bright future.
