The infamous Holman Predictor has made a long awaited return in 2014 and the results through 11 rounds of the Allied Pickfords Division 1 competition suggest that the race for this years Holman Medal may already be run.
3 time winner Brendan Iles (Warwick) has streaked the field through the opening rounds remarkably polling through the opening 7 rounds of this years competition.
Thankfully for his opponents Iles has not played in the last 2 games for Warwick after sustaining a hamstring complaint against Souths in round 9. This has opened the door for fellow midfielder Tyhe Clarkson who is enjoring some strong mid season form with 2 best on ground performances in the 2 weeks Iles has not played.
While the ranking / points system for the Holman Predictor has been at times comared to the confusing Duckworth / Lewis system it has picked 3 of the last 4 Holman medalists. With Iles already 6 points ahead of his nearest competitor injury may be the only factor that is keeping this race open.
