Goondiwindi women's Coach Craig Naismith will no doubt have his work cut out for him as his side looks to face the in-form Dalby Swans at Riddles Oval.
The red and white ladies from Dalby are currently in a purple patch with four wins on the trot and face one of the toughest road trips in DD footy and that is out to Riddles Oval. Goondiwindi haven't quite had the success they would like at home just yet but coming off three weeks with just the one game, the Hawkettes will be fresh and ready for the Swannies.
Last time these two sides met was back in round 8, where Dalby ran out comfortable winners at Bridgman Oval in Pittsworth.
Shaye Easton and Jodie Ingleton dominated up forward booting 10 each and creating headaches for the Hawks coaching staff.
Young-star Jayne Finlay was also prolific in the victory for the Swannies, running riot through the midfield.
For Goondiwindi, their last outing saw them 99-point victors over the Demons at Cahill Park as Dianne Naismith booted four in a well balanced team orientated outfit. Zoe Naismith, Amy Hague and Jessica Bell were the standout Hawkettes and gave superb delivery to their dynamic forwards.
Playing the Hawks at Riddles is never an easy task and the Swannies can't come into this game thinking they already have the four premiership points pencilled in.
Goondiwindi will make every visiting side earn possession and if the vocal Hawks faithful can get loud, then the Hawkies will lift.
The key to beating the Hawks at Riddles, silence the gold and green supporters. The first five minutes of this clash will be the key to both sides getting the upper hand. As the visiting side the Swans will want to get on top early, get the momentum and silence the Hawkies faithful.
A win to the Swans and they will claim 2nd spot on the AFLDD women's ladder, not a bad feat in their first season in the competition.
If Goondiwindi can upset the Swannies, they will gain breathing space between them and the fifth placed Demons.
The key to the game will be shutting down the impact of centre-half forward Shaye Easton, an ideal match up may just be Darling Downs Representative Gabby Ayre or Molly McCosker
