This weekend AFL Sydney celebrate Pink Sock Round where we will be one of many leagues across Australia adding a splash of pink to their game as they put their best foot forward to support the McGrath Foundation’s Pull On Your Socks campaign.
Bringing some warmth to the sporting calendar this winter, Pull On Your Socks encourages sporty clubs and sporty people to add a splash of pink to their game by wearing the McGrath Foundation’s Pink Socks. Every dollar raised will help the McGrath Foundation place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia and increase breast awareness in young Australians.
Co-Founder and President of the McGrath Foundation, Glenn McGrath, said Pull On Your Socks is a great way for all sporting clubs or even just individuals to really get involved.
"From footy to hockey, rugby to netball, sporting teams all around the country are turning their socks pink and helping to support a cause close to the heart of every Australian. Leagues like AFL Sydney show the power of communities coming together to achieve amazing things, while helping us achieve our vision of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse for every family experiencing breast cancer in Australia," Glenn said.
All proceeds from the day will help the McGrath Foundation see their vision become a reality, ensuring every family experiencing breast cancer in Australia has access to a breast care nurse, no matter where they live or their financial situation.
