Highfields will be looking to roar into finals contention but in their way is a road trip north to play the South Burnett Saints.
South Burnett are sitting strongly in second place and trying to chase down top of the table University.
The Lions will be throwing everything at this game, as they look to come away from Lyle Vidler with the 4 premiership points. A win will guarantee the Lions propel themselves into the top 4 as the 4th placed SUNS have the weekend off.
Highfields will be boosted by a few top line players with their Allied Pickford's Cup side having the week off with the bye.
Cameron Harding and Steven Shephard are the go to players for the Lions 2's and will need to continue their consistent season if they are too match the Saints. No doubt Saints coach, Steve Humbler would of done his homework and will make sure his defensive unit keep an eye on young goal-scorers Luke Bianchi and Jake Carroll.
For the Saints veteran Adam Bowater is the go to man, the DD captain is getting better with age and dominating contests. No doubt a short-priced favourite for the Division 2 fairest and best medal.
Gun youngster Ty Snow is also another key for the Saints and can kick numerous goals within minutes. Snow quite often sneaks under opposition team radars.
Edwards and Presnell seem to be the go-to players inside forward 50 but both can play various roles.
Victory to the Saints and they just about guarantee themselves a chance at finals, but if the maroon, blue and gold get up, then the Lions keep their finals dreams alive.
In other games, a replay of the 2013 Division 2 grand-final will get underway at Baker Street in Sunday afternoon football returns to USQ as the Cougars take on the reigning premiers Coolaroo.
It is a completely different story to 2013, with the Cougars sitting on top of the ladder and the Roo's 2's finals hopes slipping away with every loss. This is a must win game for navy blues if they are to even think about back to back titles.
The final fixture of the division 2 competition will see the 8th placed Redback's come up against the 3rd placed Bombers.
Warwick are yet to win a game in the 2014 season but will be quietly confident playing the South Toowoomba 2's at home. This is a game that could go either way, if the Red and Blue win, then no doubt celebrations will be in full swing at the Reddies Oval club house but a Red and Black win and the Bombers men will go a game and half clear over 4th place.
