Coolaroo Football Club will celebrate Old Boys Day at Gold Park on the 21st June, 2014, in conjunction with MND Global Day 2014. Prior to the passing of Clubman Lawrence (Lawrie) Tessmann in May this year it was decided that Coolaroo Football Club would join the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.
He is the second member to lose the battle against MND. The first was Russell Roser, a foundation player.
“Motor neurone disease (MND) is a global problem. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity or demographic. It is a devastating disease that affects over 350,000 of the world’s population, and kills over 100,000 people every year (International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations). For every person diagnosed with MND, the impact of the disease will be forever felt by their loved ones.”
Judith Maker-Field from MND will be at Gold Park on the day, raising awareness. The Club has donated two prizes to be raffled and money raised from the ticket sales will be donated to MND QLD.
Coolaroo and the Toowoomba Tigers will play for the ‘Russell Roser Cup’ at 2:30. A Minutes silence will be held before the start of the Division 1 game. The first games begin at 8:30 with Under 8s and 10s and continue throughout the day with the last Game starting at 7pm at Gold Park, via Gold Street off Hume Street, Toowoomba.
Show your support, join the fight.
