AFL Darling Downs are pleased to announce the following squad of 23 to represent the region in the upcoming clash against AFL Northern Rivers this Saturday 7th June at Warwick AFC.
The Under 16 squad was selected by the coaching staff and AFL Queensland game development, along with performance at club football on and off the field.
Regional Manager Keith Webb was pleased with the strong representation by the regions country clubs.
"To have 15 of the 23 from outside Toowoomba based clubs, not only shows our regions depth but that our country clubs are providing strong programs for players to develop," Webb said
Darling Downs will be looking to bounce back after going down in their last talent match against Wide Bay.
"Wide Bay jumped us in Kingaroy and we struggled to get back into the game," Regional Manager Webb said.
"Over half the side will play their first talent game for the year on Saturday.
"With have great confidence that the 23 selected players will gel well together and be committed to executing our game plan.
"We have a good mix of youth, experience, versatility, size and pace," Webb added.
The Under 16 representative game will be played as a curtain raiser to the Men's Darling Downs representative clash against QAFL Amateurs side, which kicks off at 2:30pm.
