Lockyer Valley are a game and half clear in 3rd place on the McDonald's Trophy ladder after their impressive 19-point victory over the reigning premiers Coolaroo at Bridgman Oval.
Ethan Shipston was the destroyer booting 3-majors in the tight arm wrestle.
Shipston looked dangerous inside the Demons forward 50, involved in a number of scoring opportunities, as no doubt his influenence will earn him votes come presentation evenings later in the season. Justus Liddicoat was also superb adding a further 2 goals to his season tally and moving to fourth on the McDonald's Trophy goal-kicking leader board.
Julian Rovetto was the standout Roo, Rovetto's ability to read the play halted quite a few of the Demons attacking raids.
Lockyer Valley will have the tough assignment of facing the top of the table undefeated Cougars next up but will be happy they face the 1st placed University side at home at Cahill Park. For the Roo's they will face Highfields at home with both sides looking to get the 4-points to stay in touch with the top 4.
In the other McDonald's Trophy fixtures, Dalby were able to sneak home against an inaccurate Bombers outfit by 9-points, while University were too strong for Toowoomba running out 16-goal victors.
