Goondiwindi and Dalby will head-line the Sunday double header at Bridgman Oval as footy returns to the central downs town of Pittsworth.
With the Hawks (4th) and Swans (5th) neck and neck on the Blackchrome Cup Ladder with 2points separating, this game shapes as an early season shaper and will give the victorious side the advantage later in the year.
Dalby are coming off two losses against the top two sides but were impressive in their last outing against the reigning Premiers.
Banks, Henning, Gaur and school-girls State representative Finlay are the in-form Swannies at the moment and will need to be ready to go after the round 7 bye. Add to this quartet, Ingleton and Wall, the red and white have a very strong core.
Goondiwindi on the other hand are coming off three different results in their last three outings, a draw (against Coolaroo), win (against Warwick) and a loss (against South Toowoomba).
Hawks star players in Ayre, Bell sisters, Litherland, McLaughlin have all had standout debut Blackchrome Cup seasons so far and will need to fire along with other key players in Bate, Hague, Ellison if they are to test the Swannies today.
Four quarters is the key to any game and whichever side can continually pressure the opposition will come away with the all-important 4-points.
In the other clash at Brigdman Oval, top of the table Coolaroo will play Lockyer Valley.
The Roos' Jade Hose is the key player and is the driving force behind the navy blues good start to the 2014 season, her ability to win the contested footy defensively and push forward to kick goals, makes her one of the most damaging players in the competition.
Though the Roos' also have another strike weapon, of who flies under the radar and that is the skilful and smart Carrie Daley.
Daley goes unnoticed in a team that boasts representative stars but continually sets up numerous attacking raids and repels opposition attacks as well. She may only be young but this rising star is one to watch.
2013 Grand-Finalists Lockyer Valley are sitting nicely in third position at the moment, with two wins from five starts.
The Demons are growing in confidence and are ready to claim a big scalp, they know it won't come easy but are prepared to work for the win. Creighton, Gould, Taylor and Britton are keys to the Demons success and will need to again lead from the front.
Though, Kylie Edmondstone is another unnoticed player.
Edmondstone is a soccer convert, who reads the play exceptionally and has adapted to the Aussie rule style of play quite quickly. Her aggression and natural running ability, is some of the best in the competition and the Dees' will no doubt look to get the footy into her hands.
Last time these two sides met was only two weeks ago, with the Roos' running away with a 70-point victory. This time the Roo girls will face a different opposition, as the Demons are ready to work hard and show that they are back to their best.
The final game of the round 8 action will be out at Reddies Oval as 6th placed Warwick host South Toowoomba.
The Bombers hit their straps last week and are close to playing their best football once again, Seaniger, Baldock and MacDonald are in superb form and have proven no matter the situation they will continue to work hard and play at their best.
Cullen, Kirkland and Harrison will be looking for support, the Redback's trio are the go-to players but need other Warwick players to step up.
The likes of Richmond, Phyland, Fidge and co will need to help the big 3 out if they are to challenge the ever impressive Bombers outfit.
