Adamstown Rosebud FC 0-5 Lambton Jaffas FC
Lambton Jaffas recorded an impressive away win over Adamstown Rosebud scoring five unanswered goals at Adamstown Oval on Sunday.
Lambton made an electric start and took the lead after just five minutes through John Majurovski while Adamstown goalkeeper Scott Carter made a number of good saves to keep the deficit to just one goal early on.
Adamstown closed out the half well and got back into the contest but failed to take the opportunity they needed to level the scores and missed a penalty attempt to level the scores.
Recruits Kale Bradbury and Luke Remington both finished their respective one on one chances well to take the score line to 3-0.
Adrian Perisic added the fourth from a goal mouth scramble after a corner while second half substitute Dino Fajkovic completed the scoring with a nice strike from the edge of the eighteen yard box late in the second half.
Lambton Jaffas Coach David Tanchevski said “it was good to get that winning feeling back, we held a lot of possession but I was more pleased with how we used it in the final third and we showed great intent in attack, and I was really happy with the clean sheet. It was good to get the result on the end of a good performance.”
Lambton Jaffas know they will need to build on that as they face an in form and top of the table Newcastle Jets Youth outfit next week while Adamstown Rosebud is away to Hamilton Olympic.
Edgeworth FC 1-1 Hamilton Olympic FC
Edgeworth Eagles and Hamilton Olympic shared the points as they played out a 1-1 draw at Jack McLaughlan Oval on Sunday.
A goal on either side of the break saw both sides even each other out as a late Edgeworth Eagles goal in the final ten minutes rescued a point for the home side.
Jacob Bailey headed home for the second consecutive week to give the visitors the lead midway through the first half after the visitors looked promising early on, Matthew Swan came close early on sending a shot across goal also.
Edgeworth picked up after the break but missed the target several times from long range as Hamilton did well to limit their chances.
However the home side got the goal they needed in the final ten minutes through Brody Taylor which keeps their unbeaten run intact.
Hamilton Olympic Coach Michael Bolch said he was happy with his side’s performance away from home and although disappointed not to hold on for the win said “a draw was probably a fair result in the end”.

Broadmeadow Magic FC 3-0 Charlestown City Blues FC

Broadmeadow Magic ended its goal scoring troubles aided by a Rhys Tippett hat trick, and also claimed a much needed clean sheet to round out a very positive performance at home.
Peter Haynes converted from the penalty spot after just 15 minutes but was forced to retake it after an infringement with the follow up shot tipped away off the upright to keep the score line goalless.
Haynes was forced from the field shortly after through injury, with a reshuffle bringing Ben Higgins into defence and moved Rhys Tippett up front and he made the most of the opportunity.
Tippett’s first came from the penalty spot after Chris Berlin was brought down which gave Broadmeadow Magic a 1-0 lead at the half time break.
His second came shortly after the break with a nicely timed header finding the back of the net and Tippett claimed his hat-trick and the three points with a goal with ten minutes remaining.
After conceding penalties in their two previous matches along with goals from defensive errors, Broadmeadow Magic provided a much improved defensive performance and converted the chances they needed to get a much needed three points.

South Cardiff FC 3-2 Lake Macquarie City FC
South Cardiff got its second win of the season with a narrow 3-2 win over Lake Macquarie City at Ulinga Oval on Sunday.
A James Byrnes hat trick in front of his home crowd was enough to separate the sides on the day leaving Lake Macquarie City bottom of the table still without a win.
The home side started the brighter of the two sides and James Byrnes provided an excellent finish less than ten minutes in when he beat the offside trap to chest and finished nicely from a long ball over the top.
Byrnes added his second just five minutes later after perseverance paid off from a through ball to dispossess his defender and slotted home to make it 2-0 after just 13 minutes and that’s how it stayed until the half time break.
Lake Macquarie City pulled one back within the opening minute of the second half to make it 2-1 as Curtis Schumann was on hand at the back post to convert after Michael Stafford could only parry away the initial attempt on goal.
Byrnes sealed his hat trick with a goal on 65 minutes again getting in behind the defence to finish in the bottom corner to make the score line 3-1.
Lake Macquarie City pulled one back on 85 minutes with a great goal from Dan Clements volleying home from the edge of the penalty area making it 3-2 with ten minutes remaining.
Lake Macquarie City goalkeeper Nathan Archbold forced a difficult save from his opposite number in injury time with a free kick near the half way line forcing Stafford to tip the ball over the cross bar.
