The Round 4 AFL Sydney Women's Rising Star is Emily Crookes from the Gosford Wildcats.
20 year old Emily is one of the only Gosford Wildcats with some limited junior AFL experience, and despite her age, has taken it upon herself to lead by example. Over the first 5 rounds of the 2014 season, Emily has become a key ball-winner on the wing and has also spent time in the midfield. She loves to run and carry, is willing to put her head over the ball, and has also been fearless in defence.
In this inaugural Gosford Wildcats Women's season, Emily has stepped up and become one of the first picked in the team every week. Along with all the other girls, she has worked very hard to improve her skills, and has a long accurate right boot.
Her key game involvements were directly responsible for the Wildcats taking a half-time lead in their Round 5 game vs UNSW/ES, and she continues to improve each week. As the season progresses, Emily will play a big part in forthcoming Gosford victories.
