The AFL Sydney Rising Star nominee for Round 6 is Jack Parker from Manly Warringah.
Jack had a lengthy lay off last year when he broke his leg mid-way through his debut match with the Premier Division team. Jack has worked hard on his recovery and rehab process in the off season and is now delivering some great football for the Manly Giants.
Jack is an Under 19 player who has played a number of senior games this year. In last weekends game he played a pivotal role as a small forward against UTS Weldon. is an exceptional effort by Jack to push his way into the Senior team considering they are in midst of 14 match unbeaten streak from the middle of last season and have a powerful collection of midfield / small forwards, including current Phelan Medallist Tyrone Armitage.
Jack had a strong game in a convincing win. He opened space, won many one on one contests and took a number of great contested marks. He set up numerous forward drives and kicked 2 goals himself with 7 other score involvements.
Jack is a testament to the junior development in the Northern Beaches (being with the Manly Bombers juniors club area since 2003) and he is also a member of the Swans academy and the Manly club see a bright future for him.
