Look-a-likes
Our Facebook page lit up on Monday when the community was asked if there were any Look-a-Likes at their club. There were some shockers but also some beauties- too many to post here. You can view them all at our Facebook page "AFL Sydney."
A couple of the best are included on the left- with the most popular being Andrew McLellan from Michael May, and Marcus Linsen from Tim Lambert (who posted a record amount of entries...too much time on his hands?)
Thanks to all who participated- there will be more community exercises as the season progresses!
Ladders taking shape
A lot has been talked about the Premier Division ladder with Manly-Warringah and Pennant Hills again showing the way on top. With this said, there is some interesting reading down the grades;
Division 1
- Balmain are the early team to beat after falling down from Premier Division. The big movers have been Pennant Hills and Macquarie University, with UNSW/ES and St George the big sliders.
Division 2
- No major surprises with Manly, Syd Uni and Western Suburbs again dominant with the newly promoted, Blacktown sitting ominously in the five.
Division 3
-Four teams sit 5-1 in Nor-West, Randwick, Syd Uni, Penrith
Under 19 Division 1
-Every side has won a game U19 Div 1- with UNSW/ES and St George the early favourites
Women’s
Division 1- Syd Uni is again team to beat, with the other story being the fall from grace for Balmain who are currently winless.
Foxing around
An early contender for Phelan Medal entertainment is Nathan Lomas from Campbelltown. Danny’s trawl through Youtube has uncovered Nathan’s best Kylie Minogue lip-syncing impersonation to "What Does the Fox Say?" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orQ5zchgWlo ) which apparently saw him commended by the St George faithful last weekend at Olds Park.
Stella performance
Well done to Newtown Breakway, Stella Xie who a fortnight ago brought up 50 games on the weekend at the tender age of 20. She must be one of the youngest to bring up the feat in senior football, men or womens

Celebrity Appearances
UTS Ladies Day was the spot for a couple of local celebrities to make an appearance a fortnight ago. Channel 9 presenter, Tom Steinfort fresh from a reporting the Oscar Pretorius case hot-footed it back to the country to return from retirement for the Bats Div 2 side. He was followed by Triple J presenter, Alex Dyson who turned out for Sydney University in the Premier Division clash. Danny had to be reminded that Triple J was a radio station but was also informed that Dyson gave a special shout out to the Sydney Uni trainer ‘Tory’ recently on their brekkie show.
There was also word that Fabio made a recent turnout at North Shore Ladies Day- his top half only covered by a black bowtie.
Muscling up at Gosford
Wind wrecked havoc at the Gosford Wildcats Ladies day recently, with a table being blown over and the marquee having to be moved to the other side of the ground. It was noticed that some of the boys might’ve been trying to show off for the ladies by attempting to carry as many items over to the other side of the ground at once, with Liam Ghalayini really trying to get the Ladies attention.
Reps on the agenda
AFL Sydney will be fielding one of its youngest Senior representative sides against AFL Canberra at StarTrack Oval over the June long weekend. A number of these players have graduated from the Development representative squad which will travel to Newcastle to take on the Black Diamond on the same weekend.
Stay tuned to the AFL Sydney website for provisional and final squad announcements.
