Brisbane Roar NYL continued their charge up the National Premier Leagues Queensland ladder, recording a strong 4-0 win over South-West Queensland Thunder at Perry Park on Sunday.

The result was aided by an impressive hat-trick from the in-form Jai Ingham, taking tally to eight goals in Roar past four outings, with lively midfielder Mitchell Hore chipping in with the other goal.

The Brisbane side started strongly but waited almost 15 minutes before their first effort on goal when Ingham latched onto a beautifully weighted through ball but striking the upright with his final effort.

The visitors tried to take Jeff Hopkins’ side by surprise just moments later but Ryan Ensor couldn’t shake the defensive cover of Lachlan Jackson and sent a shot high of goal after running almost half the length of the field.

Just after the half hour mark, Sam Sibatuara showed off some fancy footwork close to the goal line and found Yandi Munawar inside the area – the young Indonesian providing Ingham with the perfect lay-off for his first goal of the afternoon.

Sibatuara and Munawar combined in the 37th mark to almost double their side’s lead but Thunder goalkeeper Stuart Campbell reacted well to the header at the near post.

Brisbane Roar Youth waited until the 70th minute before doubling their advantage, Hore tapping the ball home at the far post after some great work from Ingham inside the area before the former Olympic player netted his second directly from a free kick with ten minutes remaining.

Ingham notched up his hat-trick just minutes later with a tidy finish sealing their fourth straight victory in the NPL Queensland competition, propelling them into the top four on the ladder.
