In the final game of Round 6, it was Williamstown overcoming a slow start to dominate the second half to run out 56-point winners over Frankston.
The result changes the top four, with Williamstown ending Footscray's short stay in fourth spot overnight.
Let's take a look at the final game of the round.
Seagulls move into top four
Williamstown has won back to back matches, overcoming a slow start to defeat Frankston by 56 points.
Frankston burst from the blocks, with Michael Lourey the key target early, but inaccuracy which has haunted them at Frankston Oval this season continued as their nine scoring shots to three in the first term only provided them with an 11-point quarter time lead.
Trailing by 22 points at the 10 minute mark of the second term, Williamstown kicked four unanswered goals which saw them take the lead at half time by three points. Ryan Ferguson was the catalyst for the Seagulls revival up forward, kicking two second term goals - three for the first half - to help the visitors back into the game.
Frankston regained the lead early in the third term, but then a 10 goal unanswered run set up the Williamstown win with a 12 goal to three second half. Ferguson added another three for six for the match, Anthony Anastasio kicked his first two goals of the game after being well held, and Jack Johnstone added his third as Williamstown regained its place in the VFL top four with win number four for the season.
Ben Davies proved hard to stop all day on the wing to be among the best for Williamstown, along with Ferguson, Peter Faulks, Nick Meese, Mitch Banner and Jack Johnstone.
Best for Frankston were Shane Hockey, Nick Newman, Josh Tynan and Ben Cavarra, with Lourey their leading goal kicker with three.
The Seagulls have overcome a slow start to the year suffering back to back defeats, winning four of their last five games to sit in fourth spot on the VFL ladder after six rounds. Their opponents Frankston are still searching for their first win of the year, with their only points coming from a draw against Richmond.
