The AFL Sydney Women’s Round 3 Rising Star nominee is Wafaa Elwadia of Auburn Giants.
Wafaa was introduced to AFL at a gala day in South West Sydney where the Auburn GIANTS were involved. At 19 years of age she has enormous potential to improve rapidly and compete with experienced players.
Wafaa is only new to the game however she is quickly learning the rules and skills.
Wafaa’s effort in Round 2 was impressive as she played ruck for the first time. She focused on the ball and didn't let anything get in her way. She put in 100% at every contest to win the ball for her team. She was recognised by her team winning the Players Player award for her effort and willingness to get the ball off the ground.
