Talented female footballer Isabelle Baldock continues to add to her growing list of individual accolades with her appointment as Vice-Captain of the 2014 Under 18 Queensland side.
Baldock was named as one of three Vice-Captains for the maroon and white. She becomes the first ever female player and only the second player from the region to be named in a State leadership group.
Isabelle but known as Belle to most, was shocked, stunned, excited and nervous all at the same time when she was announced as Vice-Captain at State training on Monday evening.
"I was shocked yet excited and nervous about my appointment as Vice-Captain," Baldock told AFLDD Media.
"I am still stunned that I have been named to help lead Queensland at the 2014 Nationals.
"It is definitely a great honour, I feel very privileged to even be considered and to be appointed by my peers and the coaching staff is something I am still shocked by but I can't wait to get started in Canberra," QLD Vice-Captain Baldock said about her appointment ahead of the National Championships in Canberra.
AFLQ Darling Downs Development Coordinator and Queensland Assistant Coach Jeff Neumann said it was great for Baldock to be rewarded and said she is a natural leader.
"Belle will talk down her appointment and won't make much of a fuss about it, that's what makes her a perfect choice as a leader,"Neumann said of Baldock's modesty.
"Belle is a natural leader, both on and off the field.
"I believe she will do a fantastic job, she is a superb young lady and has a big future ahead of her, it is great to reward her for the dedication and hard work put in," Neumann added.
Isabelle Baldock will be joined by fellow Darling Downs players Georgie Seaniger and Shaliese Law at the Youth Girls Nationals. Baldock and Seaniger will team up for Queensland in Division 1 while Law will be donning the Woomera's jersey in Division 2 at the National Championships.
