LAKERS TRIO OFF TO JUNIOR NATIONAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Three of Mount Gambier’s outstanding junior basketballers have been selected in the SA Country Under 16 State teams to compete in The Australian Junior Basketball Championships in Geelong from July 5th to 12th.

They are Tenille Gray, Brenna McKay and Lachlan Hunter. Two Girls from Millicent, Olivia Fuller and Alana Winter are also members of the state team. Peter Seebohm, Basketball Manager of the Millicent Association is Assistant Coach and Melissa Rathjen of Mount Gambier is Team Manager of the Girls.

Included in the Reserves is Jessica Allen of Millicent and Nicholas Lacey of Naracoorte.

The players and reserves will train over weekends through May and June leading up to the Championships in early July. As well as this demanding assignment, the players have extensive individual home programs to complete.

Gray, McKay and Fuller have just returned from a successful New Zealand tour where they won gold medals in the Pacific Rim Junior Tournament.
