Coolaroo and Goondiwindi have played out a thrilling draw in the first ever women's league game player at Pittsworths' Bridgman Oval.
The Roo's held the lead at every change, until the Hawks stormed home to secure two points in the 3.3 (21) to 3.3 (21) draw. Jade Hose was again the standout player on the ground and will no doubt feature in the Heather Green Medal vote count for this match after her superb game. Roo's midfielders Horsfall and Miller were also fantastic and worked hard all day.
For Goondiwindi, former soccer player Rochelle Ellison was superb in her debut game dominating through the middle and off half back.
Coolaroo had the momentum for three-quarters of the game until the 'Hawkettes' started the momentum train but unfortunately wasted a number of opportunities in front of goal.
Dianne Naismith and Rebecca Priest along with Ellison who swung the game in Goondiwindi's favour.
The Roo's however can thank Tarina Oates who made a match saving tackle, catching her opponent and earning a free-kick for hold the ball. If it wasn't for Oates, the Hawks would of left Pittsworth with all four premiership points.
Goondiwindi and Coolaroo, new to the women's competition are slowly building what looks to be strong rivalry after two very close games in recent weeks. Round three the Roo's came away with a comfortable 27-point victory and now a draw in this round 4 encounter.
The draw see Coolaroo edge into second place ahead of reigning premiers South Toowoomba and Goondiwindi secure fifth spot ahead of Warwick in sixth on the AFLDD Women's ladder.
