Controversy at the Bat Cave
For the first time this season, Thomas Zilm missed out on scoring a place in the AFL Sydney Team of the Week. He's taken it pretty badly, blaming the fact he spent 10 minutes on the bench doing a concussion test. "Last time I put my head over the footy," Zilm said at training during the week.
Goal’s are this way....
Wet weather has been scientifically proven to produce some inaccurate kicking for goal but fair dinkum. The candidates to join Sam Newman’s “Fossil’s Academy of Reliable Kicking” from the weekend includes (insert drum roll);
Illawarra Lions Division One- 5.22 (52)
St George Division One- 3.10 (28)
UTS Shamrocks Women’s Division Two- 2.10 (22)
Manly-Warringah Division Four- 1.15 (21)
Body Doubles
It has come to Danny’s attention that AFL Sydney and Sydney Hills Eagles stalwart, Ryan Fitton is auditioning for the role of Barney Rubble in the next Flinstone’s movie. Teammates say he won’t require too much time in the make-up and costuming room. St George’s Thomas Green is said to be interested in the role as main character in the next Forrest Gump movie.
Mistaken identity
News from North at Gosford was that Damian Tomsett was very proud of his efforts of being named Best Player on the weekend for the Wildcats before he was told that there had been a Footyweb error where Damian was not best player and it was supposed to be younger brother, Adam, who received the honour.
Top of the pops
The AFL Sydney brains trust is investigating the option of delving through the player lists for this year to name the Top 20 players of the competition. It will be a well-debated list but already there have been a couple of nominations for other lists. Word from the Magpies nest is that Taylor Williamson is the best public speaker in the competition, and that Adrian Hill can muz! After deep research, Danny can reveal the meaning of “muz.” (source Urban Dictionary)
1. n Slang for someone who rips people off, takes food without asking, asks for a ride all the time, leaves garbage around the house, etc.
2. v To muz; action of muzzing.
Clint: "Carter, I'm gunna grab a sandwich."
Carter: "Guy! Why are you muzzin' me?"
