Jade Hose has booted four goals to lead the Coolaroo women's side to their first ever victory, as the Roo's ran out 7.14 (56) to 4.5 (29) winners over Goondiwindi.
Coolaroo led by a slender 5-points going into the first break registering 3 majors to the Hawks 2 majors. With both sides searching for their first ever victory the opening exchanges were very physical and played at a high intensity.
It was much the same in the second quarter, as the Roo's controlled proceedings. Coolaroo booted two of their six shots on goal with Sarah Green bringing up her second of the game with an impressive snap at the big sticks.
For the 'Hawkettes' they were only able to record the one major for the term and that was through Jessica Bell. Coolaroo stretched their lead out to 15-points going into the long break.
The third term saw both sides throw everything at each other as the all important 'premiership quarter' was the opportunity for each team to stamp their authority on the game. Both sides booted one major each with Coolaroo wasting a number of opportunities in front of goal that could of seen their three quarter time lead more than 18-points.
Coolaroo ramped up their defensive pressure in the final quarter, keeping Goondiwindi to just the one goal as the Roo's only kicked one of their five shots on goal. The Roo's were able to record a 27-point victory and for the first time take home the four premiership points.
Final Score: Goondiwindi 4.5 (29) def. by Coolaroo 7.14 (56)
In the only other Women's game for the round, Lockyer Valley received the four premiership points in their win over Warwick. The Demons moved into top spot on the AFLDD Women's ladder with the Roo's women moving into fourth.
