With only two players with previous playing experience the Dalby Swans have defeated 2013 Grand-Finalists Lockyer Valley with an impressive 52-point win at Cahill Park.
2013 premiership player with South Toowoomba and joint Heather Green Medallist (AFLDD Women's Best and Fairest) Danielle Wall dominated proceedings for the Swans kicking the first three goals of the game.
The Dalby skipper continued her dominance throughout the game finishing with 5-majors and best on ground honours.
Young-gun and key forward Jessi Henning was also superb, popping up with 3-goals of her own.
Dalby President Scott Matthews was impressed and happy with the Swans women's getting up on debut against the 2013 runners-up.
"Our young-guns and veterans combined well and to defeat last year’s grand-finalists by 52-points is a great result for our club," Swans President Matthews said.
"We got through the game with no major injuries and the side is ready for our next game," Matthews added.
Carissa Taylor and Monique Gould were the standout Demons in their loss. It was Lockyer's inability to go with Dalby in the opening two quarters of the match, as Dalby powered ahead in the opening exchanges.
In the other game for round 2 premiers South Toowoomba sent a warning to the competition, convincingly defeating Coolaroo by over 100 points. Georgie Seaniger (joint Heather Green Medallist 2013) and Isabelle Baldock were fantastic in the Bombers first game of the season.
Shonnie Skehan and Mariah Pasfield were the key Roo's, though Coolaroo were outclassed by a hard running Bombers outfit.
