Taylor Preece is an U19 Swans Academy representative who had a stellar season for UNSW/ES U18s last season.
Taylor has carried that form through the pre-season and was picked to make his first grade debut against UTS in Round 1.
Playing on the wing and across half forward he continued to present and got better and better as the match went on. Preece took a number of crucial contested marks in the second half and kicked a couple of important goals.
With plenty of upside, Preece is just one of a large number of future first grade players coming through UNSW/ES U19s ranks.
With hard work and a focus on maintaining consistency throughout games and throughout a season, Taylor has a really bright future ahead in senior football.
To be eligible to win the Mens or Womens AFL Sydney Rising Star award the player must:

Be under 21 years of age;

Play a minimum of four Premier Division / Womens matches during the season;

Be in his or her first full season of senior football (i.e. Played less than four senior matches in AFL Sydney or equivalent competition prior to this season);
The weekly award winners are nominated by their clubs and awarded accordingly on their performances over the previous weeks
The Rising Star winner will be determined by AFL Sydney Premier Division & Womens Coaches from the weekly nominees.
