The off-season hasn’t been kind to Northern Blues.
Its VFL list had its heart pulled out with the departure of its past two best and fairest winners – Lambert and Marcon – co-captain Gianfagna turning to umpiring, the Dockers anchoring prospect Jacob Bollard and its No 1 ruckman Meese joining Lambert and Marcon in the Seagulls flock.
And, this from a team that finished one game outside the eight.
Former Pie/Docker Anthony should be a big addition as too Wilkinson, but Northern Blues will need Carlton to have a relatively injury-free year if it’s to climb into the finals.
