Jets Set For Bayside Blockbuster
Moreton Bay United Jets are not getting carried away following last week’s big win over FNQ FC Heat, as they prepare for a blockbuster clash against Redlands United on Sunday afternoon.
Last Saturday’s 9-2 win over Heat lifted Jets to third in the NPL Queensland standings, only one point behind this weekend’s opponents.
Jets Head Coach Terry Kirkham said he was maintaining the same approach that has served his side well following an undefeated start to their campaign.
“We are doing nothing different this week,’’ said Kirkham at training on Wednesday night.
“We’re putting plenty of effort and determination in to every training session and gelling new players in to our team.
“Although we have just reminded the players that we have drawn two (of our four) games, but for that we could have been top.’’
Kirkham has no new injuries to upset his team plans, but may yet make some changes to his relatively settled squad for the match against Redlands.
Part of the coach’s match-day routine which will not change is his use of the team’s group Facebook page.
During the week the page has plenty of light-hearted content. But on the day of a match that stops.
“I start early on the day and use it for things like motivational tips and reminders about preparation and being well hydrated,” said Kirkham.
The Jets and Red Devils will face off across the NPL Queensland age divisions on Sunday with the exception of the Under 15 Girls who will line up against Sunshine Coast Fire at Stockland Park.
