A new stand-alone entity, a new coach, a host of new players, albeit many from existing VFL clubs, and a firm belief among its faithful that Williamstown will be as powerful if not more so as it goes it alone.
Williamstown’s recruiting has been the most aggressive of any club. It has added plenty of depth – Messrs Lambert and Marcon are best and fairest winners at Northern Blues; Davies is a former club best and fairest returning home; Faulks is back from a stint at Fremantle while Ferguson is a premiership player during Sandringham’s halcyon days - to a club that already boasted depth. The Seagulls are looking to make an immediate impact and certainly it has the players to suggest that it is a legitimate top four contender.
