Randwick City – 1st
After being beaten in the Grand Final last year against Blacktown, Randwick City will look to go one better in season 2014. The Saints will look to use their bigger bodies again in 2014 to create pressure on their opposition and try to create turnovers. The losses of Dion Burke and main goalkicker Ashlee Azhar will leave a big hole but if Michael Garstin and George Garoufalis play as well as they did in 2013, they will be deserved premiership favourites.
Sydney University – 2nd
Sydney University will be looking to improve on last years Elimination Final loss and will be one of the main premiership threats in 2014. With increased numbers in the higher grades, Sydney University should once again be a consistent performer within the competition.
Nor-West -3rd
Predicted to finish down the bottom of the ladder last year within the AFL Sydney office, Nor-West were the surprise packets in 2013 making the preliminary final. Nor-West look a much stronger side this year with an influx of new players coming to the club. Ryan and Brent Johnston return to the club and will be key players along with McFarlane Medal runner up David Clinch. Paul Webster and Peter Kyle will be the focal points up forward once again.
Western Suburbs – 4th
Western Suburbs will once again be challenging for a finals berth in Division Three this year. With the quality of players they have recruited in the higher grades, the Division Three side should gain much needed depth and will be a very good outfit. Reigning McFarlane medallist Chris Noordhof will add a lot of class to this team if he goes around again.
Southern Power – 5th
After winning five games in 2013, Southern Power will want to improve on that in 2014. The Power could be helped out with some of the senior bodies from higher grades coming back through the grades. If they can some quality players to come back, Southern Power could be the surprise packets of the 2014 season.
Penrith – 6th
Penrith’s reserve grade side will look to improve on last years seven wins and seventh place finish in 2014. In their first year in Division Three since winning the Division Four Premiership in 2012, the Rams will look to keep improving in 2014 and a healthy list from them and their Division One team will help their chances.
Gosford – 7th
After an inconsistent year in 2013, the Wildcats will need to play very well to make the finals after some big losses in the off-season. 2012 McFarlane Medallist and Co-Captain Brad Deitz has left the club along with powerhouse full forward Scott Manuelle. Gosford has a new coach in Bruce Cross and will need to have a strong game plan to challenge for the finals. Tim Eather will need to be at his best and provide the most of the scoring with Scott Stokes to be strong down back.
Pennant Hills – 8th
The 2013 Division Four Premiers will be looking to continue their success into the 2014 season. After finishing second and not losing a final last year, the Demons will be confident they can repeat their success in a higher grade. Coach Jarrod Myers has the game plan and players to challenge for the finals.
Balmain – 9th
Dropping back into the Division Three competition in 2014, Balmain will be looking to challenge quite a few sides this year. The key for Balmain will be the depth of their Division One side which was a real issue last year. A real unknown this year.
Macquarie University – 10th
The Warriors will be wanting to improve on their ninth place in 2013 however their depth is likely to be tested. Injuries to their senior squad last year really impacted this teams chances and they will be hoping for more luck. May struggle again.
