Dalby State School Girls side has moved to the top of the ladder for the girls division after an impressive win over Our Lady of the Southern Cross Colleges number one side.
The State School ran out 13-point victors in the nail-biting encounter at the Dalby Swans complex. Scores were within 1-point at half-time but Dalby State booted two goals in the third quarter and went defensive for the remainder of the match.
Both State Schools (Dalby South & Dalby) sit in the top three and are looking likely to be their come finals times, it is early in the competition and OLOSCC have plenty of time to get back to the top of the ladder.
OLOSCC are the four-time reigning champions in the Girls Division and no doubt will start to ramp up intensity as finals near.
In the Boys Division five of the six OLOSCC teams occupy the top 5 positions on the ladder with Dalby South (1) the likely contender wrapping up the top 6 sides. OLOSCC (6) are the surprise packets of the competition, as the Grade 5 side are the giant slayers and sit a-top the Boys Division ladder.
OLOSCC (6) have knocked off fellow OLOSCC (5) in week 1 and then easily accounted for Dalby South (2) by 94-points in Round 2 games. Can these Grade 5 students go all the way? They play OLOSCC 4 this week, who have also won two straight games.
An interesting battle looms.
