Craig Foster To Visit Townsville

Northern Fury's stocks will be further boosted in the coming weeks when SBS-TV's Craig Foster makes a flying visit to Townsville to launch the club's National Premier Leagues Queensland season.

Along with Fury's #1 & #2 Foundation member, Minister for Local Government, David Crisafulli, and Mayor of Townsville, Jenny Hill, the former Socceroo and SBS expert analyst and commentator will meet and talk with guests at an official season launch on February 27th at A Touch of Salt.

Fury's #3 Foundation member, Ewen Jones MP, has Parliamentary commitments in Canberra.

"We're absolutely delighted to have Craig join us to launch the season," said Northern Fury Chairman Rabieh Krayem.

"We know that Craig and others, such as FOX Sports' Simon Hill and Andy Harper, are big supporters of the Fury, and it's wonderful that Craig has found the time to join us for this event.

"He has kindly fitted this in amongst his television commitments with the Champions League as well as his own coaching commitments at the NSW Federation."

Foster, who is originally from Goonellabah (near Lismore) in northern NSW, was a strong supporter of North Queensland Fury in the A-League and believes it's important for football to have a national footprint that includes locations outside of capital cities.

As well as launching the season, Northern Fury's Head of Football, Ian Ferguson, will name the club captain for the 2014 season.

Foster will also give a training session to Fury's junior boys and girls teams on the afternoon prior to the launch.

Krayem said that anyone who joins Northern Fury as a Fury Foundation Member before the end of the weekend will receive an invitation to the season launch.

Foundation members are eligible to stand for the Board of Directors of Northern Fury and also vote in elections, as well as other benefits.
