Junior (u6,u8,u10) Youth (u12,u14,u16) and senior (Div 1, Div 2, Womens) coaches will have their first chance to update or gain Level 1 accreditation in March.
The Junior/Youth/Senior Level 1 coaching course will be held at Toowoomba State High School, Mt Lofty Campus on Saturday, March 15.
High profile coaches will be leading the sessions on the day, passing on their knowledge to community coaches. The course is a chance for prospective coaches to gain their accreditation, or for current coaches to renew their existing accreditation.
Coaches looking to update can attend the session for half a day to re-accredit.
State coaching, volunteer and affiliates manager, Jack Barry, said courses such as this helped ensure the high quality of coaches in the state.
“Coaches have a more immediate and direct influence over a player than anyone else,” he said.
“We aim to give our coaches a high quality education so that they and in turn, their players, reap the benefits of that.
“This course is a great way to get in early and make sure that you’re on top of your accreditation.”
Assistant coaches who hold match day and official coaching roles need to be accredited, as well as head coaches.
This course will be held at Toowoomba State High School, Mt Lofty Camp on March 15, running from 8:30am to 1:30pm, costing $176 for new coaches and $77 for updating coaches.
