Macquarie University AFC has announced the appointment of Stuart Newman as head coach.
‘Disco’ has a long history with the club, playing 40 games including being a member of the 2009 premiership team.
In recent years, Disco has spent time with the club as a fitness coach, as well as developing his own cricket academy.
Club spokesman, David Marsh congratulated Newman on his appointment.
"His leadership skills are unquestionable and will only develop further throughout the season thanks to 2009 premiership coach Daniel Kenny who has agreed to mentor Disco through his debut season as a senior coach," he said.
"In a year when the University is due to celebrate its Jubilee Anniversary, and when the club celebrates both the 2009 5-year & 1999 15-year premiership reunions, it is fantastic to have a person like Disco returning to lead the club."
To complete the coaching department for 2014, the club is still on the lookout for a Division 3/Reserve Grade Coach, a Division 5 Coach as well as assistant coaches across all grades.
