North Shore have announced their coaching panel for the 2014 season with the key announcement of Jon Hayres continuing on as Premier Division coach.
The other coaching appointments include Gareth Lawson (Reserves- Division One), Nick Adams (Division Four/Five) and Jamie O’Dell (Under 19’s).
Ryan Meldrum & Jason Russell Jones join the senior coaching panel.
In a re-structure, Damian Whittle has also been announced as Development Coach and will take on the development role specifically with the Bombers’ emerging talent.
Club spokesman, John Goode was pleased to announce the re-appointment of Hayres.
“Jon has done a great job of guiding the club through a transition period and with the continued focus on development of our juniors and recruitment, the depth is improving at the club,” Goode said.
“2014 offers an opportunity to build on the great work Jon has done.”
“Gareth Lawson is from country Victoria and had a brief stint as a young player with UNSW before moving to Melbourne. More recently Gareth has been involved in the coaching program at North Melbourne and brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He will also provide input to the Premier Division side as a senior assistant to Jon Hayres.”
“North Shore is also very pleased that Nick and Jamie are continuing in their roles. Nick’s influence in the growth of our Division Four/Five group and Jamie’s efforts in rebuilding our 19’s team have been two of the real success stories at the club over the past couple of years.
“Having the key coaching positions settled, the mood around the club is really positive and we’re looking forward to a successful season.”
