Australian Schools Championships 2013
Between Sunday December 1st and Friday December 6 Kilsyth Basketball has hosted, along with Knox Basketball, the Australian Schools Basketball Championships.
A fantastic job has been done by our Kilsyth family to ensure that the tournament has gone off without a hitch, or with the smallest hitch as possible, Unfortunately the depth of experience in organising such tournaments was depleted in 2013 with departure of General Manager, Grant Wallace and also Haydn Smith. But as usual, when faced with a tough job, Kilsyth people dig in and get the job done. It has meant a few late nights and even a few sleepless nights but things have gone great.
There was no Kilsyth referee selected to take part in the Championship Division of the Schools Championship in 2013 which is selected by Basketball Australia but our sole representative has been Life Member, Michael Potts as a Referee Coach. This valuable position is much appreciated by Basketball Australia and the attending referees assisting in the further development in these already very good young referees as they advance their careers towards their dreams of becoming the best they can be. That may be a National Panel Referee, a SEABL Referee, a WNBL Referee, an NBL Referee or even a FIBA International Referee.
