Hosted by former Rams player MC, Murray Conallin, the black tie gala event reflected on the past season. Local junior Josh Shephard joined the club this year after a very succesful few years at East Coast and was a major acquisition to the Rams. In what was a very tightly contested battle for the medal, Josh took top honours by a single vote from the evergreen backman, Jay Edwards. Previous Walker medallists, Jason Ware, Dave Bradley, Lachie Smith and Michael Walker were in attendance. Josh also tied with young Jack Ponton for the prestigious Player's Player award.
The Ramettes medal saw another interesting count with many leaderboard changes. Natalie Camilleri won her second successive medal from newcomer Justine Vella. Nat made a wonderful speech in accepting the award thanking her Rams/Ramettes "family". Nat's close friend, Runner Up, Justine Vella earlier took out the Player's Player Award.
In Reserve Grade Matt Cummins was awarded the Geoff Eldering Medal for B & F by a single point from captain Jake Sultana. It was the second award won by Matt, who earlier took out the Player's Player.
Third Grade saw a runaway victory to youngster Marty Pope from the aging rookie, Dane Fysh. Like reserve grade, Marty also was voted Player's Player by his team-mates.
In the Under 18's Alan Stewart Medal, Blue Mountains junior and GWS acadamy player, James Monks was the worthy victor from Jeromy Watts whilst another former Kangaroo, Aidan Quicke won the Player's Player.
Rep players Tim Cummins, Kayla Badger and Jasmine Payne were also recognised and Ben Robinson (100 games) Jay Edwards (150 games) and Luke Donoghue (200 games) were also acknowledged.
The best first year players Awards went to Chris Withers (Open Mens), Nikki Perrett (Womens) and Jeromy Watts (Under 18's)
2014 head coach, Barry Denton, gave a wonderful insight into what lies ahead for the club for next season and beyond with a very motivating and uplifting speech. The highly credentialled Barry is chomping at the bit to get the club together on the paddock, which commences next week.
One of the major awards of the year was the Dianne Guymer "Clubperson of the Year". Despite many great volunteers, it was the highly popular motivator, Jennifer Brown, who took on many roles over the last two years. The club and the wider community is certainly fortunate to have someone of the calibre of Jen on their side.
The club wishes to thank MC, Murray Conallin, who did a brilliant job behind the mike despite some technical issues
