Thirteen of the regions very best youth girls footballers are over the next three days competing at the 2013 Under 17 AFL Queensland Youth Girls State Championships for the South West Magpies. AFLDD Media take a look at each of the thirteen girls from the Darling Downs.

South West Magpies - Darling Downs Representatives
#1 Jade Loch - Toowoomba | South Toowoomba AFC
Loch represented Queensland in 2012 at the Under 18 Nationals after a superb State Championships in 2011, an injury plagued 2012 State Champs saw the tough midfielder miss out on Queensland selection for the 2013 Nationals. Loch has had a superb season taking out the inaugural AFLDD Women's Leading Goal-kicker in a more permanent move forward.
#2 Morgan Prior - Toowoomba | South Toowoomba AFC
In just her first season of football, Prior has stormed onto the footballing scene. Prior is a strong marking key forward and will play a pivotal role in the team’s success at the Championships. Prior's ability to take strong marks above the pack and also her ability to win the ground level footy, has ear marked her as a possible chance at QLD selection.
#4 Alice Woodhill - Toowoomba | Rookie Search
Coming from a Touch Football and Athletics background, Alice has only played a handful of games of Aussie Rules but has made a seamless transition. Her athletic ability and in particular speed of the mark sets her apart from most. Classy in and under player, that can break packs open.
#5 Isabelle Baldock - Toowoomba | South Toowoomba AFC/Coorparoo AFC
Isabelle is a dual Queensland representative after selections in the 2012 and 2013 teams, missing narrowly on All Australian selection on both occasions. Baldock is your no frills type player, be that in the midfield or across half back no matter what she gets the job done. Natural leader and was awarded with the Co-Captaincy of the South West team for the Championships.
#6 Georgie Seaniger - Toowoomba | South Toowoomba AFC
It has been a quick rise to the top for Georgie Seaniger, the netball convert took out just about every individual accolade in 2013 throughout the inaugural AFLDD Women's Competition. Seaniger grew in confidence after her superb performance for Queensland at the Nationals in 2013 and cemented her spot as a running half back flanker that can take strong contested marks. Another natural leader and joined Baldock as Co-Captain of the South West Magpies.
#8 Jessica Harvey - Toowoomba | South Toowoomba AFC
Not many want to play against Harvey, her tackling and pressure on the ball carrier is second to none. The team’s one ‘percenter’ player is an important cog in the South West machine. Named in the Queensland training squad but just missing the final squad of 25, will no doubt be around the mix again.
#10 Taylor Schutt - Roma | Rookie Search
The second of the three Rookie's in the side, Schutt has been selected to play in the ruck and will be handful for her opponents. Natural athlete that can run all day and pinch hit forward and kick multiple goals. Schutt is a rookie that can go all the way and will surprise the QLD selectors.
#11 Lauren Jericho - Toowoomba | Toowoomba AFC
Jericho is another key tall for the Magpies selected to play both inside forward 50 and as a backup to Schutt. After a superb season for the u14 Stingers, Jericho surprised selectors with her pace and ability to run all day, a key to the Magpies selector.
#12 Emily Bell - Toowoomba | Rookie Search
The touch convert has had a superb year of footy which started with the DD u16 School Girls State Champs, Bell then transferred her superb start to the year with outstanding performances across the school footy season for Fairholme. Bell is a quick outside player with superb decision making, a strong chance of QLD selection.
#16 Savannah Ranford - Toowoomba | South Toowoomba AFC
Classy small forward come defender, Ranford’s ability to find the footy and break through packs sets her apart from most. Ranford has improved her pace, making her just about the complete footballer. Savannah will be unleashed through the midfield throughout the championships and will push both forward and back at times.
#17 Cassie Cullen - Warwick | Warwick AFC
After a season with Mt Gravatt youth girls in 2012 and a superb season with the Redback's Women's team Cullen has taken her game to another level. Another player that gets the job done, no matter the task Cullen will finish the job. Will be the go to player to shut down the opposition star in a nullifying role and will be let loose up forward as well.
#20 Danielle Wall - Cecil Plains | South Toowoomba AFC
Wall represented Queensland in 2013 as the young star dominated at across half back and through the midfield at both club and the State Championships. Danielle has been given a new role in 2013 and will be seen inside the forward 50, a role that will be foreign to Wall but her defensive pressure and ability to take strong marks on the lead makes her the ideal key target inside forward 50.
#31 Kristina McGreevy - Crow's Nest | Highfields AFC
Picked up through the AFLQ Schools Programs; McGreevy enjoyed a breakthrough year playing for the Under 14 Highfields Lions. McGreevy is a skilful lefty and will be seen deep in defence for the Magpies with possible stints up forward as well.
