You may not be aware that AFL Mackay comprises two quite separate Incorporated Associations, being AFL Mackay Inc and AFL Mackay Juniors Inc, which are both tasked to administer the game in the Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday Region.
With this structure comes a requirement to have two separate management committees, separate sets of constitutions and by-laws, separate financial accounts, insurance and budgets, and separate reporting structures.
This situation can cause confusion in relation to match-day requirements, particularly where the two competitions overlap. Additionally, replication of committee, financial and reporting structures can stretch the resources of an already stretched group of volunteers.
The Executives of both the Senior and Junior Leagues of AFL Mackay recently held a combined meeting to discuss a proposed structural change to the way AFL Mackay is to be administered into the future, which will impact on the Management Committee structure for both Senior and Junior Leagues.
AFL Mackay wishes to invite as many of our members to a forum, to be held at the Function Room at Quest on Gordon, on Saturday 2 November at 10.00am, to present the proposed League structure ahead of our upcoming AGMs. The attached document provides an outline of the proposed structure, and how it may affect both Leagues, and subsequently YOU.
For catering purposes, please RSVP to aflmackay@aflq.com.au by Thursday 31 October.
