CBL Results Round 1
Both Women's and Men's sides traveled to Churchill for the first round and unfortunately both sides came home with a loss.
The new look Women's side with Pat Frendo coaching and a number of juniors making their debuts fought gamely against the top ranked Churchill to be close at halftime. Unfortunately Churchill broke away in the third quarter and despite Moe's gutsy efforts held on the win by 9 points. Carly led the way with 21 points, Jorjie-Belle had 10 and Michelle 8.
The Men's side also had a number making their debuts and took the fight right up to their more fancied opponents. In a dour struggle Churchill broke away in the third quarter and despite some valiant efforts we could not bridge the gap in the last quarter. Jack Sheedy, Jayden VanDyk and Josh Pearce were good in their debuts and Dev knocked up pulling down rebounds. A great defensive effort against one of the higher scoring teams. Final score Churchill 63 Moe 53.
