AFLDD Media review the year that was, highlighting key programs, events and exciting news stories that happened throughout each month.
January is as per normal a fairly quiet month on the local footy scene, with the new year comes new programs and old favourites re-commence.
Pre-Season started after the Summer break with a record 137 boys and girls signing onto the 2012/2013 Summer Talent Program. The Jonathan Brown and Brisbane Lions were official announced to arrive in Toowoomba for the Australia Post Community Camp in mid-February.
One of the biggest news stories of the year came in the announcement that former Adelaide Crows defender Sean Tasker, appointed as the Toowoomba Grammar School Sports Headmaster. A massive coup for Australian Football not only on the Darling Downs but the Rugby strong Grammar school.
The other big news story to come out of January was that of Warwick Redback's senior Coach Jason Wright honoured on Australia Day for his dedication to Australian Football and in particular at the Warwick footy club for his tireless efforts. Jason was a receipent of a Australia Day Sports Administration Award.
