Division One
Few sides had a year as dominant as Southern Power. The Power lost only two games all year and relished the premiership favouritism afforded to them from Manly-Warringah’s promotion. Stuart Brierty won the Snow Medal s Best and Fairest player, and they boasted other representative players in James Clarke, Adam Cook and Matthew Young.
Holroyd-Parramatta had a very disappointing finish to the season, losing both their finals clashes against UTS and then UNSW/ES to go out in straight sets after finishing the regular season in third. Their skills let them down at key moments while they relied somewhat on small forward Ben Rogers in attack. Adam Byrne and Jordan Pidgeon are their star players they need to retain in 2014.
Penrith fell out of the finals and finished in sixth place this season. They had a number of heartbreaking losses which did not help their cause. Josh Shephard added to their midfield while Tim Cummins is a key forward they need to retain. They missed Dale Chivas this year. The Rams have already made moves to improve with the appointment of a new senior coach.
Macquarie University again had a tough year finishing in eighth position with seven wins. They were competitive at times but ultimately finished three wins out of a finals berth. Jackson Brackin was a shining light this year and impressed in the Representative fixture at Wagga Wagga.
